Specializing in Peruvian fare with a unique blend of flavors and textures, this cozy restaurant invites you to embark on a memorable dining journey filled with bold spices, fresh ingredients, and comforting classics.
At Mancora, the menu boasts a dazzling array of dishes that showcase the depth and diversity of Peru’s culinary heritage. Whether you’re savoring the indulgent Bistec a Lo Pobre—a hearty steak topped with a fried egg and caramelized onions—or the fragrant Tallarines Verdes Con Bistec, tender linguine coated in a vibrant green cilantro and basil sauce paired with juicy steak, every bite sings with passion and authenticity.
The seafood offerings here deserve special mention. The Ceviche Mixto and Jalea Mixta bring fresh fish and shellfish alive with bright citrus notes and the signature tang of leche de tigre, a zesty marinade that acts as the soul of Peruvian ceviches. For those craving warmth and comfort, the Parihuela Soup, brimming with king crab, mussels, calamari, and shrimp in a savory broth, offers a luscious embrace of the sea.
Small plates, or antojitos, such as the Anticuchitos Trio—grilled skewers marinated in aromatic spices—provide a perfect way to sample traditional street fare, while the Salchipapas, a crowd-pleaser of crispy fries topped with thinly sliced hot dogs and a medley of sauces, taps into playful Peruvian comfort food with generous flavor. Sweet endings like Helado De Lucuma, an ice cream made from a native Peruvian fruit with a custardy, caramel flavor, round out the experience beautifully.
The welcoming, laid-back atmosphere makes Mancora Peruvian Cuisine a perfect spot for casual dinners with family or lively gatherings with friends. Several guests have praised the attentive and friendly service, especially highlighting servers who bring warmth and genuine care to each table, enhancing the inviting ambiance. Notably, one first-time diner was captivated by the “Tallarin Saltado De Carne,” linguine tossed with colorful stir-fried vegetables and tender steak pieces, calling it “soooo good” — a testament to the kitchen’s ability to craft dishes that satisfy both the palate and the soul.
The drink menu complements the food expertly, with traditional choices like Chicha Morada, a sweet purple corn beverage, and expertly crafted Pisco Sour cocktails and Sangria, perfect for toasting special moments. Their Leche de Tigre cocktail is another standout, capturing the vivid and invigorating flavors so characteristic of Peruvian cuisine.
Mancora Peruvian Cuisine stands out not only for its authentic dishes but for delivering fresh, flavorful plates in generous portions without compromising quality—qualities that have earned it glowing praise from both locals and visitors. Whether you crave the robust and comforting or the fresh and tangy, each visit promises a genuine Peruvian dining experience that feels both special and effortlessly enjoyable. Walked in having never tried Peruvian food before I've always wanted to, nice little spot down town Alhambra. The server Dulce was very tentative and helpful I had an oder of the fried platanos and the Main dish was Tallarin Saltado De Carne, witch was amazing. Witch was linguine noodles with like stir-fry veggies and steak peices. Soooo good. Will definitely return soon.
The service was great, the meals were great portions and quality prepared, we had a wonderful time celebrating a family birthday celebration. Thank you Mancora for making the evening a wonderful celebrating.
This was a great find for my wife and I. We love Peruvian food, and our normal place is in West Covina now to far from our current home. Food was tasty, and the quality was superb. Seafood was fresh, and the fries in the limo were great. I would recommend this place, and there new location coming soon to East LA.
The food was great as a Peruvian I felt close to the food. Al thought the anticuchos were a little small they were taste, hope to go back soon. Thank you the the waitress that was very kind and friendly. Next time I’ll add pictures.
Overall, its nice, its my first time eating peruvian cuisine with the lomo saltado and a platano with huacaina sauce appetizer. The appetizer was way too simple for the price. The Lomo Saltado was quite tasty but the meat tasted overly salted. I'm not sure if its meant to be that way but slightly less salt would have made the dish better in my opinion
My first time try Peruvian food, the seafood dishes are delicious and special. Other I think it is overpriced. The ice cream is very delicious. The drinks tasted nice. Service is good. I feel happy to eat there.
Our Server Dulce is amazing!! I have many allergies and she was able to accommodate us! Very grateful
Fantastic food, amazing and friendly service from Dulce, and an all around excellent experience. The pisco sour was also top-notch.
